At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.
About the RoleANZ Markets operates within a heavily regulated part of the institution. All project-delivered change within ANZ Markets needs to meet the Bank's internal policy and risk management frameworks, as well as comply with the extensive government regulatory oversight from Australia, New Zealand, and the ~26 international jurisdictions within which the bank operates.
We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent individual to join our Projects/Change delivery assurance team within the Markets division at ANZ. This role is integral to our Markets global change initiatives and requires a unique set of skills and characteristics to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.
As a Project Delivery Assurance Manager in our team, you'll play a key role in operating as a trusted advisor to enable the enterprise to deliver at pace whilst complying with all regulatory and risk controls, delivery standards, and control frameworks. You will also provide guidance on how to ensure adherence to delivery standards and control frameworks. You should also show an understanding of risk management practices to help the business create proactive and sustainable controls for both existing and new products, processes, and technology solutions. Additionally, you will ensure projects are compliant with ANZ policies & regulatory framework, ADF Control framework, and delivering within acceptable levels of residual risk as defined by ANZ Operational Risk Management Framework (I.AM). In this role, you will also contribute to the successful execution of change initiatives, including regulatory changes, by ensuring that risk assessments and pre-go-live checks are completed for all relevant business and strategic initiatives. You will also ensure that key controls are tested prior to the go-live date.
Banking is changing and we're changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you'll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne / Sydney CBD
Work Hours: Full time
As a Project Delivery Assurance Manager, you will:
- Provide oversight, support, and guidance across change initiatives focusing on non-financial risk identification, assessment, and management throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure a high level of pace, attention to detail, and diligence across global change initiatives.
- Navigate ambiguity and handle strong personalities prevalent in the Markets universe.
- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to drive change and ensure compliance.
- Maintain key relationships with Information Security Office, Operational Risk, In-Country Compliance Groups, Technology Risk, Enterprise Data Governance, Senior Business Stakeholders, enablement functions, and other sign-off authorities.
- Resolve conflict and ambiguity between policies, regulatory requirements framework, and practical implementation.
- Drive process improvement and efficiency in the delivery of Information Security requirements through established precedents across Markets Platforms.
- Provide leadership and contribute to the upskilling of staff in the areas of risk, control, and assurance.
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive knowledge of the business/technology and the impact of internal and external regulatory requirements, risk controls, and delivery standards and controls frameworks (this includes software and Testing controls).
- Strong understanding of control effectiveness assessment/testing, mitigation techniques, and risk reporting requirements.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISO 31000:2009.
- Familiar with ADI Prudential Standards for an Australian deposit-taking institution, especially those connected with effective non-financial risk management – e.g. CPS230-235.
- Broad comprehension of Australian and International regulators' requirements related to data privacy and banking secrecy legislation.
- Strong knowledge of ANZ Information Security Office (ISO) standards and ANZ Operational Risk Management Framework (I.AM).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, strong attention to detail, and a no-nonsense approach to tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage strong personalities and navigate ambiguity. Ability to thrive in a challenging environment and grow with the role.
- Experience in non-financial risk and compliance management.
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.
