QA Automation Engineer – Backend/SOA
- We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer for a backend-focused testing role supporting enterprise systems.
- This contract offers a 4 to 6-month opportunity with potential for extension and is based in Auckland, New Zealand, with a flexible hybrid work model.
- You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment with strong Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute automated tests using Java and Shell scripting languages.
- Focus on backend system testing including JPOS and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) service layers.
- Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and release teams within a CI/CD pipeline.
- Utilize tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Jira to manage version control and delivery.
- Contribute to automated build/test processes with Cloudbees; basic experience with Chef is beneficial.
- Support performance testing initiatives and apply Test-Driven Development (TDD)/Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) where appropriate.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Solid hands-on experience in Java test automation for backend systems.
- Familiarity with JPOS, SOA testing, and Shell scripting languages.
- Proficiency in Git, Jenkins, Cloudbees, and Jira.
- Understanding of Agile delivery and CI/CD workflows.
- Exposure to performance testing and test-driven development practices.
- Domain experience in payments, cards, or ATM systems is highly desirable.
