Maintenance Fitter/Production Technician

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production facility. Your expertise in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement will be essential in delivering exceptional product quality and performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing faults and repairing equipment or process failures promptly to minimize downtime
- Maintaining equipment to ensure seamless production operations
- Responsible for machine and robotic adjustments
- Developing and supporting proposals to increase machine capacity and throughput
- Participating in planned maintenance activities, including plant improvements and projects that enhance plant availability and efficiency
- Maintaining computerized systems to prevent production delays or shutdowns
- Ensuring compliance with site quality and HACCP standards
- Communicating and escalating issues across shifts to provide updates or solutions to the broader maintenance and operations groups
- Assisting in training and upskilling the production team
About You:
- Australian Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Automation is required, with recent trade completion being an advantage
- Strong mechanical/electrical service and repair knowledge, including hydraulics and pneumatics
- Previous experience working with high-speed packaging equipment, including injection moulding, IML, and packaging machines, is highly regarded
- Experience with automation and robotics is highly valued
- A genuine interest in automation and technology, with the ability to learn new concepts and procedures
- Knowledge of business operations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Knowledge of ISO and HACCP principles
- Strong teamwork and customer focus
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
- Computer literacy in MS Office programs
- Focused on achieving results
- Current Forklift licence is preferred, with support provided for those without one
