Overview

Master Builders Victoria (MBV) represents over 6,000 members within the building construction industry across Victoria, including large and small builders across the domestic and commercial sectors, as well as apprentices, suppliers, and manufacturers. Key Position Tasks

We are looking for an Instructional Designer to apply industry-leading instructional design and adult learning theories in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of training resources. Key tasks include:

  • Design and develop timely, cost-effective and instructionally sound industry programs and learning solutions
  • Design learning activities that enable participants to practice real-life skills and engage learners in meaningful and effective workplace transfer
  • Develop learner guides, assessment booklets, learner workbooks, PowerPoints, session plans, hand-outs and other documents to reflect the requirements of the units of competency, the training and assessment strategy (TAS) and the VET training package
  • Undertake benchmarking analysis of existing internal and external programs and resources to ensure that program learning design adequately meets the learning needs of a target group and is suitable for the current and future needs of the building and construction industry
Key Skills, Attributes and Experience
  • Minimum: Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
  • Preferable: Diploma/bachelor's degree/post-graduate qualifications in learning and development, instructional design, adult education or a related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of the VET training sector, Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (NVR) standards and Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Ability to establish excellent relationships and to work collaboratively with key partners to improve processes
  • Capacity to prioritise multiple, ongoing projects using established project management tools
