Our stunning care home Formby Manor Care Centre is a purpose-built facility located in Formby, Merseyside. The home is registered to provide care to 76 residents who have a variety of needs including residential, nursing, and dementia residential. The home reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in our homes to enhance the experience of our residents, including OOMPH, an award-winning activities and wellbeing programme. We have also introduced electronic medication administration records in all of our homes. In addition, Formby Manor has acoustic monitoring and silent nurse call installed. New Care has had 0 agency usage for over 4 years as we employ a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care to residents from staff that know them and that residents know and trust. Across New Care, all of our staff are paid the national living wage or above.

We are seeking to appoint a kind, organised, and fun Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team. The role involves delivering and supporting other staff in the running of activities and being an example of best practice to others who provide activities in the home, placing great value on social contact and companionship. Engage actively by fostering and developing meaningful relationships both in and out of the home. We have a 37.5-hour contract available with an hourly rate of £12.50 Shift times are 0900-1700, with alternate weekend working, but we do require some flexibility in terms of hours worked to meet the needs of the business.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Create ongoing weekly activity programmes that ensure a wide range of opportunities are available to stimulate the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of all residents.
  2. Provide an innovative programme so that residents can achieve extraordinary things within their capabilities.
  3. Coordinate staff to deliver activities based on their personal skills and interests.
  4. Ensure a life story and Wellbeing and Activity plan is in place for each resident and that the plan is regularly reviewed.
  5. Ensure adequate and up-to-date risk assessments are in place for all events and activities planned and undertaken.
  6. Provide supervision and coaching of the Wellbeing Assistant.
  7. Understand the needs of people with the various conditions residents have in the home.
  8. Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Skills and Experience Required:
  1. Experience of working with older people is essential.
  2. Experience of delivering an activity programme is essential.
  3. Evidence of the ability to assess, plan, and evaluate the activity needs of older people is essential.
  4. The ability to work individually and in a team is essential.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and handle emergency situations effectively.
  7. Be creative, imaginative, and enthusiastic and have the ability to forward plan.
