The Digital Preservation Coalition requires a skilled specialist to configure and maintain core systems related to digital preservation.
Key Responsibilities:- System Administration: Manage collection systems, monitor performance, apply updates, and troubleshoot workflow issues.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Resolve technical concerns and provide training on relevant subjects.
- Problem-Solving: Conceive and implement solutions for audiovisual/multimedia archives.
- Documentation: Provide detailed documentation for system use and solutions.
This role is part of the Digital Platforms team, working closely with Digital Collection Services and Digital Infrastructure teams to ensure the preservation and access of digital content.
Requirements:This position requires strong technical skills, including awareness of digital media characteristics, available tooling, and best practices in digital preservation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing digital collections, transcoding files, and extracting metadata.
They should also be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide support across the organisation.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team to achieve our goals.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of our digital collections.
