Overview

The Engagement and Community Communications Officer is responsible for supporting activities of the Engagement Community Communication team. This role is focused on supporting community engagement initiatives, facilitating communication, and promoting cultural safety and responsiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community engagement activities and events.
  • Support communication between SA health and Aboriginal communities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
  • Support the management of project timelines and deliverables.
  • Prepare and distribute communication materials such as newsletters, reports, and social media updates.
  • Respond to inquiries from community members and stakeholders.
  • Support the organisation in gathering feedback from the community to improve Aboriginal health outcomes.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Criminal History Screening Requirement: A National Police Certificate (NPC) or Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).
  • Special Conditions: The role requires identification as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA) exemption; inter and intrastate travel will be required; out of hours work may be required.
