Mechanical Fitter Role

We are seeking a site-based Mechanical Fitter to perform general fitting and assembly duties on various forms of equipment, ensuring safe, effective, and timely mechanical maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising plant operational capacity, including induction furnaces, sand transportation systems, CNC machines, and hydraulic presses.

This role is part of a highly skilled, collaborative team of tradespeople, offering opportunities for leadership development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out workshop repairs and refurbishments on critical equipment.
  • Inspecting and repairing mechanical infrastructure.
  • Repairing, maintaining, and testing equipment according to the scope of work.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, focusing on safety and maximising production.
  • Resolving operational and technical equipment concerns.
  • Safety First: Demonstrating unwavering commitment to our zero-harm behaviours in support of developing a world-class safety culture.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
  • Experience working with heavy machinery, fault finding, and repairs of equipment.
  • Welding and machining experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Effective communication and report writing skills.
  • Competency in using CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
