Bike Shop Assistant Manager/Head Mechanic

Thunder Mountain Bike Park is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bike Shop Assistant Manager/Head Mechanic to oversee the daily operations of our shop and rentals for the 2025 season.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the bike shop team in maintaining high standards of service and quality.
  • Assemble, repair, and maintain downhill and enduro bikes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose issues, estimate repair costs, and provide detailed customer quotes.
  • Manage parts inventory, ordering, and pricing to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate service records for rental fleet maintenance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure the shop remains clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Train and assist mechanics with repairs and customer service to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Sell products and services using point-of-sale software to drive revenue growth.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a bike shop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of current mountain bike technology and repair processes.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to build strong relationships with guests.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for downhill mountain biking and enthusiasm to promote Thunder Mountain Bike Park.
  • A willingness to work weekends and holidays as required.
