Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Environmental Advisor reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor. This is a residential position based at our KCGM Operations in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, working an 8:6 roster – 11 hours per day.

Here's what awaits you:

1. Ensure routine environmental compliance monitoring and reporting activities are completed and submitted on time.
2. Assist in the review and ongoing maintenance of the sites Environmental Management System, including the legal obligations register.
3. Coordinate, supervise and manage contractors or consultants engaged to do work for the Environment Team.
4. Collate required environmental data and maintain monitoring databases, records and schedules.
5. Analyse and interpret monitoring data and identify trends.
6. Contribute to the development and execution of the Team's objectives, targets and plans.
7. Ensure environmental management plans and procedures are implemented, and associated monitoring programs are conducted.
8. Share the on-call responsibility with other team members.
9. Consult and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
10. Assist in the development of licence/permit/approval applications, as required.
11. Assist with environmental incident investigations and follow-up on corrective actions with the respective departments.
12. Participate in external events and community-based activities to support Northern Star's Community Investment Program.
13. Participate in sustainability projects and business improvements.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

1. Minimum two (2) years relevant experience in the mining/resources industry.
2. Bachelor's Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
3. Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
4. Good understanding of environment, mining and heritage legislation in WA.
5. Knowledge of environmental impacts and controls associated with a mining operation.
6. Good understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and auditing processes.
7. Experience with GIS, preferably ArcGIS Pro, and other database management programs such as SharePoint and Power BI.
8. Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to build collaborative relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
11. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, with the ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic and outcome focused environment.
