Overview

Assistant Principal - Howqua Campus, Lauriston Girls' School. Permanent full-time role with Hutton Consulting Australia in Melbourne VIC, Australia. Lauriston Girls' School is a leading independent girls' school with a focus on well‑being and excellence in academics and co-curricular programs. The Howqua campus is Lauriston's second campus, located near the Victorian country town of Mansfield, hosting Year 9 students residing on site. The role supports the pastoral care and leadership of the Howqua campus as part of the Howqua Management Team.

Due to an unexpected change in family circumstances, the current Assistant Principal – Howqua Campus position will become available at the end of 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral support for students and act as a key liaison for students, staff and parents.
  • As Deputy Head of the Howqua Campus, contribute to best practice in experiential pastoral care programs aligned with the strategic intent of the school.
  • Foster a positive team culture that prioritises open communication and collaboration; work closely with the Vice Principal and deputize when the Vice Principal is not on site.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing progressive student wellbeing systems and protocols, preferably within a residential living context.
  • Proven ability as an authentic, relational educational leader who grows others, balancing confidence and presence with poise and insight.
  • Well-developed organisational and administration skills, including multi-tasking and accountability for targets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that promote optimism, warmth and respect.
Details
  • The successful candidate will reside and be present on site.
  • Teaching allotment and a competitive remuneration package including provision of accommodation are attached to this role.
  • Commencing Term 1, 2026; applicants must have a right to work in Australia and be VIT registered.
