About The Role

These roles are based in Port Augusta or Whyalla.

The Psychologist is a member of the inter-disciplinary team and works with children and young people with developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties, and exceptional needs (including giftedness) and their families. The Psychologist works with preschool and school staff, and parents to develop evidence based psychology interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies that can be adapted for learning and home contexts.

Qualifications

Current and full registration (general) with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor.

Desirable: Area of practice endorsement – educational and developmental psychology and/or clinical psychology and/or counselling psychology.

Special Conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

  • AHP2 $88,255 - $102,240 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) or
  • AHP3 $104,180 - $111,746 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)

Additional Note

There are 2x full-time roles (1.0 FTE) and 1 part-time (0.6FTE) available, for an initial 12-month term contract term, with the potential for ongoing employment.

These positions are to be filled at either AHP2 or AHP3 classification level, determined by skills, knowledge and experience of individual applicants and level of responsibility relevant to the position. Applicants of all experience levels are welcome to apply for this role.
