In this role, you'll:

  • Develop high-quality web, mobile, and API applications using a diverse technology stack to communicate data, analytics, and insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Design and implement integration layers and wrappers around third-party products, enabling a seamless user experience across varying backend technologies.
  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with development standards and fulfillment of business and functional requirements.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, contributing technical insight to ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Design and implement automated testing strategies and actively support CI/CD pipelines to enhance software quality and reduce deployment risks.
  • Provide Level 3 production support for developed applications, investigating and resolving defects to ensure stability and continuous service.
  • Support product in-housing and onboarding of third-party applications, including coordinating and leading external contractors to achieve quality and integration objectives.
  • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing, participating in code reviews, architectural discussions, and broader engineering team practices to uplift delivery standards.
  • Navigate competing priorities in a dynamic environment, balancing project delivery with ongoing support and development responsibilities.
  • Collaborate and engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders, maintaining focus on delivery while managing conflicting objectives and expectations.

About You
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying and managing web applications using Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Web Apps and related cloud tools.
  • Proven skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js to build responsive interfaces.
  • Strong working knowledge of JavaScript-based mapping libraries such as Leaflet.js, Mapbox, or OpenLayers, and familiarity with geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON) and GIS web standards (OGC).
  • Experience developing server-side applications using Node.js and/or Python, including building RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable data exchange.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate third-party APIs (e.g., mapping tiles, routing, geocoding), handling both JSON and XML data from diverse sources.
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control and experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps or similar tools, for automated testing and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning techniques, including caching, parallel processing, and designing solutions for high-volume or real-time data applications.
  • Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT) and managing identity through platforms such as Azure Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with spatial data systems and integrating geospatial functionality into web or mobile solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and deliver robust technical solutions in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
