Job DescriptionAbout the Role
Are you looking for variety and purpose in your work? As aDisability Support Workerbased at Port Pirie, you'll play a vital role in the planning and provision of a responsive client and family-centred service, providing Hub and In-Home supports. In this hands-on role, you'll use your knowledge and experience supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities to promote independence, community participation, and meaningful relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
For decadesNovitahas been helping South Australians living with disability achieve their goals. In this role, you'll support clients by interpreting and responding to their communication needs, health care plans, and mealtime guidelines, administering medication, and documenting observations. Your contribution will be vital in helping clients reach their full potential and independence goals—perfect for someone who finds joy in seeing others grow and thrive.

What you will bring:
- A strong commitment to client wellbeing and person-centred care
- Ability to interpret and act on individual health care plans, communication needs, and mealtime guidelines
- Confidence in identifying and responding to health concerns, and accurately documenting observations
- Competence in administering prescribed medication and maintaining accurate records
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, families, and colleagues
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for promoting Novita's mission in the community
- A commitment to safe work practices and WHS standards
What You'll Need before starting:
- CurrentNDIS Worker CheckandWorking with Children Check(must be completed before starting)
- Certificate IIIin Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services (or willingness to complete/enrol)
- Child Safe Environmentstraining (Through Your Eyes)
- Completion of theNDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You
- Competency-based training inAssist Clients with Medication(HLTHPS006 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
- Competency-basedManual Handlingtraining (HLTWHS005 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate(including CPR)
If you are willing to make a career in Disability Sector and ready to undertake Cert III or IV, with no experience, we'd love to see your application.
All Novita employees are required to undertake mandatory training relevant to their role. Support Workers are paid in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).
Remuneration Package and Benefits
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
