What You'll Be Doing

The Dental Assistant assists dental officers and oral health therapists to deliver safe and effective oral health services by providing clinical and administrative support.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in dental assisting and qualification in a field recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia or equivalent, OR experience and preparedness to undertake Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
  • Demonstrated high level of competency in assisting with all oral health care procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current infection control principles and procedures.
  • Ability to use computer software and electronic systems to complete work tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work, including driving long distances and overnight stays at health service expense. Evidence of a current Class C driver's licence.
