Your new company

This independent federal government agency is responsible for delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), supporting a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with significant and permanent disabilities, as well as their families and carers.

Your new role

This role is pivotal in leading the graphic design team to deliver high-quality internal communications and initiatives, fostering creativity and innovation across multiple channels while ensuring all materials are accessible and aligned with the Agency's brand guidelines. It involves providing strategic creative direction for key corporate publications, communication campaigns, and reform priorities, while building strong stakeholder relationships and developing a deep understanding of the Agency's objectives. Additionally, the role supports staff by driving improvements to design tools and templates, enhancing the overall effectiveness of internal communication efforts.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design & Communication Skills: Develop and deliver high-quality, clear, and accessible digital and print collateral that meets stakeholder needs and aligns with Agency branding.
  • Project Management & Organisation: Manage a diverse range of design projects simultaneously, including tracking progress, communicating updates, identifying and mitigating risks, and managing workload to meet deadlines-particularly for key corporate publications like the Annual Report and Corporate Plan.
  • Analytical Thinking & Data-Driven Improvement: Use data and insights to evaluate and enhance design practices and provide informed guidance for the design team.
  • Creative Leadership & Innovation: Foster consistency and originality in content creation across various touchpoints, including design, social media, engagement, and online platforms.
  • Technical Proficiency & Template Development: Design and maintain Microsoft Office templates that align with the Agency's brand guidelines, ensuring ease of use and consistency across internal communications.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Over 5 years in similar roles, with a strong track record managing complex design projects, including Annual Reports and corporate publications.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, with a solid understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG compliance).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships, communicating effectively, and making sound, risk-aware decisions.
  • Experienced in leading through change, fostering a positive team culture, coaching staff, and supporting professional growth.
  • Must hold an Australian Citizenship.
