Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Marketing and Communications Advisor to shape and drive our organisation's marketing and communications strategy. This key role will work closely with the executive leadership team to amplify our vision and ensure culturally appropriate messaging that supports our strategic direction. In this highly autonomous position, you will lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing and communication plans, create engaging content across multiple platforms, and strengthen relationships with key media, government, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with organisational goals.
  • Create compelling content for social media, website, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Ensure all communications are culturally appropriate and community focused.
  • Build and manage strong media and funding partner relationships.
  • Support executive leadership with speech writing, briefings, and stakeholder messaging.
  • Drive internal communications that promote engagement and alignment.
  • Evaluate and report on campaign outcomes and continuously improve tactics.
  • Lead initiatives to promote Nunkuwarrin Yunti's values, mission, and impact.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Qualifications in marketing or communications, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing the marketing function on behalf of an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and partnership relationships – both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to create communications that are culturally appropriate
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work across a variety of tasks
  • Meticulous attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving abilities
  • A creative, innovative and strategic mindset and capable of producing efficient and engaging content
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively network and communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations, in addition to non-Aboriginal organisations, in a positive and dynamic way.
  • Understanding of programs and services provided at Nunkuwarrin Yunti.
  • Experience working in other Not-for-Profit organisations.
