As a Manager, Software Engineering on the Unreal Ecosystem team, you will lead a passionate group of engineers in creating plugins, tools, and systems that enable developers and collaborators to craft the best gaming experiences for our players.

The Unreal Ecosystem (UnEco) team collaborates across Riot to enhance the Unreal development environment. You will tackle diverse technical challenges, quickly learn new topics, and solve complex problems that empower developers and players alike.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 4-7 software engineers, coaching them, ensuring adherence to best practices, and supporting their growth
  • Partner with discipline and product leaders to improve team health and effectiveness
  • Foster cross-team collaboration within Riot
  • Mentor engineers on best practices relevant to the current product phase
  • Lead sourcing and hiring efforts to build a strong engineering team
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years as an Engineering Manager leading engineering teams
  • Experience in recruiting and team growth
  • Proven track record of shipping products on large, multi-platform codebases
  • Experience collaborating across departments to develop solutions
  • 3+ years as a technical lead
  • Participation in technical design and code reviews
  • Proficiency in C++ or C#
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with game development teams
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Experience with automation processes
