OverviewHydraulic Engineer (Associate/ Associate Director), Building Services — lead complex projects with technical excellence and strategic direction at WSP.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee hydraulic engineering design across major projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
- Drive strategic growth of the hydraulics discipline, contributing to business development and client engagement.
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and performance.
- Represent WSP in client meetings, industry forums, and technical panels, showcasing thought leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other disciplines to deliver integrated building services solutions.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance with industry standards, while pushing boundaries to set new benchmarks.
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- High-level specialist expertise in hydraulic building services engineering and design documentation
- 15+ years of industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment
- Experience delivering multiple concurrent projects across sectors (commercial, defence, transport, education)
- Strong client relationship management and project management skills
- Capacity to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects
- Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC, etc.)
- Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit MEP (advantageous)
