Full time leadership role
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) provides clinical leadership in Alpine Health's acute and aged care services. As a leader of the team, the NUM is integral to the coordination of clinical care and operational management of the unit, including staffing, change management and safer care outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit, ensuring efficient patient flow, resource allocation, and adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
- Foster a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and professional development.
- Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff, to optimise patient care delivery and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
- Act as a role model and mentor for staff, promoting professional growth, autonomy, and accountability.
- Registered Nurse qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire others, build effective teams, and drive positive change.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and foster collaborative relationships.
- Knowledge of contemporary healthcare practices, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices in nursing and healthcare management.
- Understanding of the unique needs and preferences of health professionals and patients, with a focus on leveraging technology and innovation to enhance care delivery.
