We are seeking an efficient and friendly full-time Gardener to join our team at our beautiful Parque Vista Retirement Estate in Holland Park.

About the role

Working in this role, your responsibility will be to oversee the establishment and upkeep of the gardens and grounds within our Parque Vista Retirement Estate. To be successful in this position you will need to be someone who is approachable, reliable and brings enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to your work.

Tasks May Include But Not Be Limited To

• Horticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring
• Garden beds re-planting and maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions
• Pruning of trees and shrubs
• Lawn mowing, edging, fertilising and weeding
• Clearing and removal of garden refuse
• Path, drains and edge repair and maintenance
• Ensuring that fences and retaining walls are maintained in good repair
• Ensuring gardening machinery/equipment (e.g. mowers) service schedules planning and implementation according to manufacturers' recommendations.
  
  

What will you bring to the role?

• Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or related field (highly regarded)
• Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardening
• Knowledge of trade resources and suppliers of materials
• Current manual drivers licence
• Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively

Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.
