About The Role

As our Manager in Line 1 Risk, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding a proactive risk culture across our Retail Banking division. You'll partner closely a variety of Business Unit leaders – specifically within the Product division for this role - and Group Risk overall to ensure alignment with BOQ Group's Risk Management Strategy and standards.

About The Role

As our Manager in Line 1 Risk, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding a proactive risk culture across our Retail Banking division. You'll partner closely a variety of Business Unit leaders – specifically within the Product division for this role - and Group Risk overall to ensure alignment with BOQ Group's Risk Management Strategy and standards.

Your key focus will be on delivering pragmatic risk advice across the Product division, designing and uplifting controls, and supporting change initiatives with robust risk assessments. You'll also lead governance activities, manage risk profiles, and contribute to divisional risk forums.

This role is instrumental in strengthening our control environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, while mentoring Risk Analysts and supporting the delivery of BOQ Group's remedial action plan, affectionately known as the rQ program (Risk Intelligence).

About You

You'll bring to BOQ group proven experience in risk management, ideally within financial services, and a strong grasp of non-financial risk and regulatory frameworks. You're confident in designing and implementing risk controls, performing risk in change assessments, and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making.

Partnering with key stakeholders – at differing levels – is your expertise, enabling you to influence and articulate complex risk concepts clearly whilst being practical in a commercial sense. Knowledge of financial products would put you in good stead for this role You describe yourself as analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in collaborative fast-paced environments.
