Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year including Bonus

About BestWest Building:

BestWest Building is an established and WA owned Independent Building Inspection & Pest Control company, providing a premium service throughout Perth, Mandurah and the Southwest.

We are currently seeking a Building Inspector to join our team on a full-time permanent contract.

About the Role:

As a Building Inspector, you will work autonomously to ensure both pre-purchase buildings and/or new builds are compliant with the relevant WA Building codes, highlighting any major defects and or Building Code Non Compliance as a priority. This will include the following key responsibilities:

  • Taking photographic evidence during every inspection
  • Writing detailed reports based on your inspections
  • Utilizing our computer system for data management and reporting
  • Providing references to relevant Building Codes or Australian Standards
  • Enjoying the benefits of a company vehicle and fuel provided
  • Working from our Osborne Park office location
  • Access to ongoing training and technical support
  • The flexibility to work remotely once initial training is complete
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A current Builder's Registration is essential
  • Strong computer proficiency is required
  • Previous experience in pre-purchase building inspections and construction progress inspections is advantageous
  • Certification for timber pest inspections is preferred
  • A core trade background such as bricklaying or roof carpentry would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the National Construction Code is necessary
  • Knowledge of AS4349 & AS4349.1 would be beneficial
  • You must be enthusiastic, reliable, presentable, objective, and honest
  • Previous experience with digital reports is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided
  • You should be self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize various projects simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proof of vaccination is essential and a condition of employment for site access.
