What To Expect

Tesla is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and service utility-scale battery sites, primarily working on the Tesla Megapack battery storage product. In this role, you will join the technician team supporting battery storage sites around the Collie region, to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade medium to high voltage equipment.

Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, who see this as an opportunity to begin building a career with Tesla in the renewable energy infrastructure sector. You will be part of a high-performing and tight-knit team on site.

What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team
  • Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework, and repair
  • Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience
  • Work with Medium and High Voltage environments while maintaining a safety focus
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Develop and follow best practices for maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment
  • Maintain high communication levels within the Tesla Energy service organization; provide daily updates on work completed, problems, and timelines
  • Support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support growth and diversity
  • Work across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites to ensure operations & maintenance requirements are met, maintaining a healthy fleet
What You'll Bring
  • Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, with at least 3 years' electrical experience in the Utility sector (Solar/Wind experience preferred)
  • Up-to-date Electrical Registration/License
  • HV switching certification and experience
  • SCADA operating experience is a plus
  • Ability to work from complex documentation and instructions
  • Strong computer skills, including OEM software
  • Good communication skills for a mobile office setting
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • Reliable, proactive, committed, and quality-focused
  • Willingness to work outdoors, occasionally on the road, at unusual hours
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with hand and power tools, test equipment
  • Ability to establish cooperative relationships and handle multiple priorities
  • Maintain professionalism and appearance
