The Torrens to Darlington Project

Our team at John Holland, in collaboration with Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia, has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor in Adelaide.

This ambitious project scope includes a 10.5km motorway featuring over 4kms of twin three-lane tunnels, road and bridge construction, and complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (M&E) installations.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in Adelaide. This role involves coordinating on-site engineering and procurement activities for electrical and M&E services, ensuring works are delivered on time, to required safety and quality standards, and within set guidelines.

The successful candidate will oversee subcontractors, support installation and commissioning, implement site safety, quality, and environmental controls, and proactively manage project risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor the progress of subcontractor's procurement and delivery of the works.
  2. Lead Site Engineers and graduate engineers to successfully deliver the M&E services works of the Project.
  3. Manage the successful delivery of the Electrical and other M&E work components of the Project from Procurement tender phase through to Handover.
  4. Procurement of subcontracts and supply items – assistance with ITT (Invitation to Tender), evaluation, clarifications, and RTA (Recommendation to Award).
  5. Subcontractors & suppliers – management of deliverables, general administration of work under execution, and general reporting as required.
  6. Subcontractor and supplier payment claims – checking, assessment, and processing in accordance with T2D procedures.
  7. Adherence to Project Scope and Technical Requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in Low Voltage distribution.
  • Good knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including design, procurement, and construction.
  • A good understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AS, NEC, IEC, IEEE).
  • Project management skills and experience on a large-scale infrastructure construction project is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
