25.64 Housing/Shelter Support Worker – Muncey Place

We are seeking a Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team at Our Place Society. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, identifying their problems, needs and risks, and develop individualized plans to address these issues.
The Housing/Shelter Support Worker will participate in intake procedures, provide counseling sessions using evidence-based techniques, and advocate for residents in resolving difficult or sensitive issues. They will also maintain a safe and welcoming environment for a marginalized population.
The duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting with resident support plan development and delivery of services
- Developing rapport and trusting relationships with residents
- Performing wellness checks and conducting room inspections
- Distributing harm reduction supplies and personal hygiene items
- Providing basic life skills training and counseling sessions
- Maintaining accurate records and statistics
- Liaising with partner agencies and other professionals
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in a related human/social service field and have a minimum of one year recent related experience. They will also be trained in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and have knowledge of community resources.
