Eastern Beaches Painting is seeking an experienced painter to lead our onsite team and independently manage painting projects from commencement to client handover.

Strong technical and hands-on experience with paint application by spray is a must.

The position will be based at various locations Sydney wide, predominantly in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certificate III Painting and Decorating (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience as a leading hand or team leader
  • Ability to manage painting projects end to end independently, in line with labour and material budget
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of a variety of spray guns
  • Experience working with protective and texture coating systems
  • Ability to undertake a range of pre-finish repairs including gyprock, render and timber repairs
  • Customer service and people management skills
  • Detail oriented with a precise and methodical approach to projects
  • Valid White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English Speaking)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a variety of residential painting and repair projects
  • Coordinate materials, tools and equipment required for each project
  • Set up job site prior to painting including required work at heights equipment, drop sheets and other surface protections
  • Lead onsite team to complete project scope in line with company standards ensuring a high level of preparation, correct paint finishes and safe work procedures are adhered to
  • Complete quality control checks and train team to develop skill set
  • Maintain clean equipment and work areas
  • Work to scheduled timeframes and monitor material usage
  • Liaise and assist with customer queries and conduct project completion walk-through
  • Apply paints, varnishes and stains including specialised finishes for protective, texture and decorative coating systems such as membranes, epoxy and venetian plaster
  • Undertake painting projects in full requiring paint application by spray, in both acrylic and oil finishes, ensuring thorough masking processes are followed prior to spraying
  • Problem solve and determine accurate repair solutions for a range of deteriorated surface coatings including water damage, wood rot, drummy render and window putty decay
  • Complete wallpaper feature walls
  • Colour match and prepare paints onsite

Annual salary range $75,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and skills.
