About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for the role of Engineering Technician Electrical within the Rail Network Maintenance – Signals and Communications team. This is a permanent full-time role FIFO from Perth on a 14 Days on 14 Days off Roster or Residential from Port Hedland.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Assist the Electrical Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities.
- Initiate updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment.
- Coach other trades team members to enhance their technical knowledge.
- Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications.
- Respond to breakdowns and coordinate repairs and servicing on equipment.
- Preserve a high-level working knowledge of BHP safety processes and procedures.
- Post trade maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of AS3000.
- Technical knowledge of Generators, Standalone Solar and Battery Systems (Highly regarded).
- Experience in Statutory maintenance and recording results in the site electrical logbook.
- Basic Computer Literacy with 1SAP experience advantageous.
- The ability to work methodically and remain calm and focused in a busy and dynamic work environment.
- The ability to work autonomously in remote locations with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
