Family Practitioner/General Practitioner

A part-time (0.2 FTE) Family Practitioner (FP) role is available to deliver outreach services in Sooke, B.C. at the Sooke Food Bank and Sooke Shelter. Services will be provided to adults and children who are impacted by poverty, colonization, stigma, and homelessness. Providing accessible primary episodic care services that not only address immediate medical needs but also actively work towards decreasing barriers and social determinants of health in accessing care.
Responsibilities- Deliver outreach primary care and episodic medical services to clients at the Sooke Food Bank and Sooke Shelter.
- Provide both OAT (opioid agonist treatment) and primary care services to a broad range of clients.
- Receive support from a primary care RN, an MHSU RN and a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) as part of the care team.
- The FP will be supported by a primary care RN, an MHSU RN and a MOA.
The position is in Sooke, British Columbia, a waterfront community near Victoria with access to natural areas and a lower cost of living. Residential and community features are noted for context.
