Location: Sydney CBD, Australia – Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days Onsite)

About the Role:

Our client, a sports technology startup, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity working with sports data and working with the Lead Data Scientist on end to end design and deployment of predictive models.

This role is ideal for a Data Scientist with domain knowledge or a keen interest in global sports such as football, cricket or tennis. This role requires expertise in Python or R.

What you'll do:

• Build and validate predictive models (end to end)
• Research topics including signal decay, latency impacts, and model robustness
• Apply quantitative methods to surface structural edge in real-time markets
• Work with data engineers to test and deploy live features
• Monitor model performance, edge consistency, and prediction reliability

This position has a hybrid/flexible working model with at least 3 days in the Sydney CBD office. You must be based in Sydney, Australia and have rights to work full-time in Australia.

What we're looking for:

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work in a fast-paced startup.

The right candidate ideally will have:

• 3-5 years experience in a similar role OR a post-graduate qualification with real-world industry application
• Experience in simulation modelling, time-series analysis and feature engineering.
• Expertise in Python or R.
