Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer

We're partnering with a leading Australian technology and cybersecurity provider, recognised for delivering cloud, infrastructure, and security solutions to enterprise clients nationwide. They specialise in Microsoft-centric platforms and have earned industry awards for their expertise and service excellence.

Permanent | Melbourne | Hybrid (4 days in office)

Role overview: Design, implement, and managesecure, high-performing cloud and hybrid solutions. This role blends deep expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, and on‑premises environments with advanced skills across the Microsoft Defender Suite, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Purview.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimisation of Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Deliver cloud migration, modernisation, and integration projects.
  • Implement and manage virtual networks, compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery (Azure, VMware, Veeam).
  • Configure and optimise Intune for endpoint lifecycle management.
  • Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender Suite, Sentinel, and Purview solutions.
  • Conduct threat modelling, security hardening, and compliance configuration.
  • Provide L3/L4 support, collaborate with the SOC on investigations, and perform proactive system health checks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards.
Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years in infrastructure engineering with Azure, Microsoft 365, and VMware.
  • Strong track record in Microsoft security solution delivery.
  • Expertise in networking, identity & access management, and hybridAD.
  • Solid experience with Intune, Autopilot, and backup/DR solutions.
  • Customer-facing project and operational support experience.
  • Relevant Microsoft and VMware certifications highly regarded.
