About the role
The Safety and Wellbeing Officer plays a key role within the City Assets Directorate, reporting to the Executive Officer. The Safety and Wellbeing Officer will be responsible for working with City Assets teams to ensure the highest standard of practices in the areas of safety, compliance and employee wellbeing.
About the person
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety, health and wellbeing improvement initiatives and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related field
- Demonstrated experience in HSW operational management
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate, lead and influence
- Ability to prepare HSW documentation through engaging others
- Attention to detail in conducting risk assessments and investigations, including reporting
- Ability to devise and implement systems and processes, as well as continual monitoring
- Proficiency in using software and tools, including HSW reporting platforms
- Current "Class C" Driver's License
- Preference for experience in local government settings.
