Join a Great Team of People as a Field Supervisor – Telecommunications (Cambridge, TAS)

At Ventia, we know that different perspectives make us better at what we do. Every day, our people keep essential services running — from connecting communities through critical infrastructure to supporting Defence, health, and education.

We're committed to creating safer, more sustainable communities and providing real opportunities for people to grow their careers in a flexible and supportive environment.

Here's what you can expect when you join us:

Career development programs – including training pathways, leadership development, and access to sponsorship and mentoring opportunities to help you grow.
Stability and opportunity – join one of the largest infrastructure services companies across Australia and New Zealand, with long-term projects and clear career pathways.
A great team of people – collaborate with supportive colleagues who respect, encourage, and learn from each other.

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Field Supervisor to join our growing N2P project team, based in Cambridge, TAS. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will coordinate and lead a team of multi-disciplined trade-based personnel, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of project-based construction activities.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a background in telecommunications, proven supervisory skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors while working alongside a great team of people in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

What you'll be doing - A Day in the Life

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and prepare site works – including walk-outs, scoping and scheduling to make sure construction activities are well-organised and run smoothly.
  • Lead and support teams on-site – working closely with subcontractors and colleagues to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate and communicate – providing clear guidance, escalating issues when needed, and keeping clients and supervisors informed.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and resources – overseeing HSE practices, checking work standards, and making sure materials and equipment are available when needed.

About You
Attitude, willingness to learn and an ability to work collaboratively are the key traits required to make this role a success.

If you don't tick all the boxes below, we would still love to hear from you:

  • A relevant trade qualification with experience in a supervisory role.
  • Telecommunications (Telstra/NBN) knowledge (advantageous).
  • Ability to read and interpret Telstra and NBN plans (advantageous).
  • Civil construction background (e.g., directional drilling, ploughing, open trenching).
  • Understanding residential and business cabling requirements.
  • Willingness to travel across the state.

Our Commitment to Inclusion
Ventia is committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. As a WORK180 Endorsed Employer, we actively support women at all levels of our organisation through flexibility, development programs, sponsorship, and mentoring.

No matter who you are, we encourage you to apply for the role that's right for you. You'll be joining an environment where collaboration, respect, and inclusivity are at the heart of how we work together.
