Illawarra Primary School (PS) is a vibrant and inclusive learning community located in Ballajura. We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistants (Level 1) to join our talent pool to support mainstream classrooms across Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role

Suitable applicants would work under the direction of teaching staff to support student learning through a range of classroom activities and routines. They will assist with the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of learning materials and classroom resources, display a high level of initiative and attention to detail. They should support the engagement, participation, and independence of students across a variety of learning contexts, showing flexibility and a positive approach. Building strong, respectful relationships with students and working collaboratively as part of a supportive classroom and whole-school team is expected. They should ideally contribute to the care, wellbeing, and safety of students during class and break times, and be willing to actively participate in the broader life of the school community. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential; a collaborative mindset, strong organisational skills, and a willingness to learn and contribute are highly valued.

This pool will be used to fill Level 1 mainstream Education Assistant roles across our school, including whole-class support, small group assistance, and general duties in a busy and welcoming school setting.

Eligibility

• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
• Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
