About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Construction & Maintenance, you'll be responsible for supporting the investigation, planning, and delivery of maintenance and construction works across a diverse portfolio of civil assets. Your role will ensure assets are maintained to the highest standard while promoting sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and public safety. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to apply technical and project management skills to a broad range of asset types—from roads and drainage to coastal and public domain infrastructure.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Construction & Maintenance, you'll be responsible for supporting the investigation, planning, and delivery of maintenance and construction works across a diverse portfolio of civil assets. Your role will ensure assets are maintained to the highest standard while promoting sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and public safety. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to apply technical and project management skills to a broad range of asset types—from roads and drainage to coastal and public domain infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate asset condition and performance; recommend and scope remedial works
• Assist with planning and implementation of civil infrastructure maintenance programs
• Manage external contractors and suppliers in line with contract specifications and Council standards
• Provide technical engineering support across teams for planning, capital works and emergency response
• Liaise with residents, utilities, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication on projects
• Ensure works are delivered within budget, time, and quality frameworks
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Experience in investigation, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of road, drainage, coastal and public infrastructure assets
• Familiarity with local government standards, regulations, and contract management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to balance technical demands with community outcomes
