Poultry Labourer role at Programmed Facility Management

About The Role

We are seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our poultry operations team. This role is hands-on and includes a variety of tasks such as animal care, farm and shed maintenance, cleaning, and general labouring.

A strong emphasis is placed on compliance, including biosecurity, animal welfare, workplace health and safety, and maintaining high hygiene standards. To succeed in this role, you should be physically fit, comfortable working with poultry, able to work on your feet for extended periods, and willing to follow strict compliance procedures. Weekend work is required as part of this position.

Duties May Include

• Record keeping - Assist in maintaining records within poultry operations. You will also complete reports on bird health and performance.
• Compliance and Safety - Adhere to WHS policies and contribute to a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
• Operational Tasks - Perform feeding, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to keep the farm running smoothly.
• Biosecurity - Follow biosecurity measures to prevent disease spread and participate in regular biosecurity training. You are required to follow a simple shower procedure every morning before starting your workday.

Key Requirements

• Be punctual and reliable. Team player (ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels).
• A current car license and reliable transport.
• Previous hatchery or farm work experience (desirable).
• Be fit and healthy (be able to work on your feet all day).
• Meet Quarantine standards (no contact with live birds, chooks, or pigs) + (follow shower on procedures).
