Business Analyst - Service Design & Improvement

We are recruiting for multiple APS6 and EL1 level Business Analysts to join a large Federal government agency within the disability sector. The successful candidates will be part of the Service Design & Improvement Branch, responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance internal service delivery processes and systems to provide better experiences for participants.

You will provide professional expertise and guidance that contribute to positive organizational outcomes, assist with strategic planning, program and project management, policy development, and contribute to business improvement strategies.

The vacancies are available in locations such as Sydney CBD, with some flexibility in other locations such as Parramatta & Newcastle:

  • APS6 Business Analyst - a junior role providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support. Will coordinate and assist in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.

Pay rate: $451.95 daily (excluding super), 37.5 hrs/week

  • EL1 Business Analyst - a more senior role involving coaching and mentoring, with responsibilities including resolving issues and risks across broad activities, supporting team and leadership in planning and coordination.

Pay rate: $602.55 daily (excluding super), 37.5 hrs/week

Requirements:

  • Business process analysis: proficiency in analyzing and documenting current vs. future state process maps.
  • Requirement gathering: ability to elicit, document, and manage business requirements into Epics and User Stories.
  • Problem-solving: strong skills to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Testing: ability to undertake systems testing against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Stakeholder engagement: facilitating workshops with stakeholders, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, and tech teams.
  • Risk assessment: identifying issues or risks, tracking, recommending alternatives, and escalating as needed.
  • System thinking: developing expertise across new systems and processes.
  • Data analysis: analyzing data to identify trends and insights.
  • Agile Methodologies: familiarity with Agile or Kanban.
  • Business Analysis Tools: knowledge of Jira, Confluence.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: working collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal skills.
