Your day-to-day work will include leading and coordinating cyber security operational activities to improve Treasury's resilience against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the department's digital environment by identifying and mitigating threats, managing risks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and collaborating across teams to enhance the overall security posture. Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the Treasury through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate cyber security operational activities to improve resilience against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Identify and mitigate threats, manage risks, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate across teams to enhance the organisation's security posture.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a similar field.
- Proficient in security operations, incident response, SIEM tools, cloud security, and government security frameworks (e.g. NSW CSP, ISM) and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, ISMS).
- Extensive experience in cyber security with hands-on threat management, risk analysis, and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA highly desirable).
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Currency of knowledge and familiarity with information security and cyber security principles.
