A rapidly growing aerospace company developing next-generation autonomous aerial systems is hiring a Software Engineer to join its core software team. As the team scales, this role supports operational software development across networked systems and secure Linux environments – critical infrastructure for autonomous platforms.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers, in a collaborative, startup-style environment. This role is ideal for early-career engineers (2–6 years' experience) with strong C++ programming skills and a good grasp of Linux systems.

Software Engineer

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

Please note: Only candidates with Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship can be considered for this position. For interstate candidates, relocation to Adelaide is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain C++ software in a Linux environment
• Build and support networked systems, with a focus on TCP/IP and secure communications
• Contribute to system setup and hardening for secure deployment
• Support integration of operational software with sensors, data links, and hardware platforms
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment

What They're Looking For:

• Strong C++ programming experience
• Understanding of networking principles (especially TCP/IP)
• Familiarity with Linux system security and access control
• Experience with tools like Git, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (e.g., Python or Bash)
• Practical mindset with a willingness to work across the stack and solve real-world problems

Nice to Have (But Not Essential):

• Background in networked or autonomous systems
• Exposure to Linux system internals or low-level software
• Interest in real-time or safety-critical environments

This team values initiative, collaboration, and building scalable, production-ready systems. You'll be joining at a pivotal time as the company scales its tech team and product capabilities.
