About the Opportunity:The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dean to join our team. This is a 5-year, fixed term, part-time position available immediately.
About the Role:The Clinical Dean will oversee clinical education and training of students at one of the University's affiliated Local Health Networks (LHNs). Key responsibilities include coordinating and integrating relevant clinical teaching sites into programs, serving as a local ambassador for the university, and fostering engagement with the local clinical community.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee clinical education and training of students at an LHN
- Coordinate and integrate relevant clinical teaching sites into programs
- Serve as a local ambassador for the university
- Foster engagement with the local clinical community
- Co-appointment to a senior (consultant) clinical role at a LHN
- Relevant experience in clinical education/training of medical students in teaching hospitals
- Specialist medical qualification and registration with AHPRA enabling clinical practice
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of medical students, including international students
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with senior and junior medical staff and other health professionals
- Possession of strong communication and persuasion skills leading to proven favorable outcomes
- Commitment to the principles of collegiality and to equity and diversity
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary band of $162,460 - $208,477 per annum, pro-rata, plus clinical loading, depending on meeting classification standards within the Enterprise Agreement 2023-2025, along with an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.
