Overview

Join to apply for the Chef de Partie role at Southport Sharks. We are opening a new restaurant on the Gold Coast and are seeking a passionate, creative chef to bring authentic Mexican dishes to life as part of the opening team. This is a full-time opportunity to help launch the concept from the very beginning.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing and presenting vibrant, authentic Mexican dishes with consistency and flair
  • Supporting the smooth running of your section while maintaining high food quality and standards
  • Monitoring food quality, minimising wastage and ensuring compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
  • Assisting with training and mentoring of upcoming chefs to build a strong, talented team
  • Contributing to a positive and motivated culture through clear communication and collaboration
  • Promoting safe work practices and maintaining efficiency across the kitchen
  • Keeping up to date with current food trends
  • Independently managing the food offering with initiative and minimal supervision to ensure smooth operations
What we're looking for
  • Experience working in Mexican cuisine is essential
  • Qualification with a minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Food Safety Hygiene qualification
  • Familiarity with the Food Safety Act and WHS legislation
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently and remain confident under pressure
