About The Opportunity

We have casual positions available for self-motivated and experienced team members at our Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) in Glendenning. Your primary responsibilities will include facilitating the transition of all animals into and out of our BARC facility, managing associated paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.

An ideal candidate will assist in maintaining a high standard of animal housing presentation and animal welfare within BARC. Shifts will be scheduled primarily on weekends, with some availability required throughout the week.

Essential:

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field
• Demonstrated customer service experience or administration experience with both telephone and face to face enquiries in a fast paced and high-volume area
• Demonstrated high level of experience in handling and working with companion animals
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
• Experience in PC applications
• Current class C driver's licence.
  
  

Essential:

• Sound knowledge of all relevant Acts, Regulations, Guidelines of the Companion Animals Act 1998
• Authority to implant microchips
• Ability to drive a manual vehicle.
  
  

Remuneration And Benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

• Entry level for this position starts at $34.6237 per hour, plus 25% casual loading
• Penalty rates for weekend shifts
• Casual loading
• Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
