Position: Child, Youth and Family - Transport Support Worker
Employment: Casual
Start Date: Immediate
Hourly Remuneration: $30.00 - $45.00 (Above Award Rates) + Super and Km's

Mandatory Requirements:
  1. Current Victorian Drivers Licence (P2)
  2. National Police Check and Right to Work check (CSA-specific resource provided)
  3. Current Accredited First Aid + CPR [HLTAID011 and HLTAID009]
  4. Passport, Australian Birth Certificate and/or Australian Citizenship (proof of ID)
  5. Current Working with Children Check (Employment)
  6. Ability to navigate (GPS) Apps and Systems
  7. Reliable and roadworthy vehicle
  8. Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
Key Duties:
  1. Assisting in transporting young people to appointments, including school, family contact, respite, home-based care etc.
  2. Assisting young people with their daily activities such as meal preparation, morning routines and community activities.
  3. Documenting progress notes and reporting any relatable concerns during support engagements.
  4. Communicate effectively with other professionals involved in a young person's care, including family members, foster carers, case managers, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders relating to the child/sibling group.
  5. Providing emotional support and companionship.
Key Selection Criteria:
  1. Experience supporting, engaging and mentoring children.
  2. Empathy, compassion, and a positive attitude.
  3. Ensuring that you can provide stability for a young person.
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect individuals' privacy.
  5. Availability on an on-call basis between 6 am and 8 pm during the weekdays.
  6. Ability to provide support (up to 1 hour drive) from the place of residence.
  7. Reliable, trustworthy, taking initiative.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Must be highly attentive to surrounding environments to uphold the safety of self and young people in support.
  10. Ability to de-escalate heightened behaviour with a young person who has experienced trauma in a calm and appropriate manner.
  11. Must respect diversity and maintain a professional environment.
