In Australia, our Energy Minerals business is a leading provider of coal testing, analysis and expert advice. We are currently looking for Coal Technicians to join our operations. Join our dynamic team as a Casual Coal Technician, based in Unanderra, NSW, in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Your responsibilities will include timely and quality sampling, preparation, and basic analysis of samples for internal and external clients. You will contribute to our mission through sample preparation, analysis, and storage.

You will be responsible for:

• Accurately conducting physical coal sampling and testing of routine samples
• Receipting, recording, sorting, and storing coal samples as required
• Following analytical methods, procedures, SGS Quality Systems, and onsite HSE standards
• Maintaining analytical and sample preparation equipment
• Delivering quality samples to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work day, afternoon, or night shifts on weekdays or weekends

The successful candidate will have:

• On-the-job training with 6-12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical process; OR
• Higher School Certificate with passes in English, Maths, and Science or equivalent
• Relevant higher qualifications preferred
• Completion of a numeracy, writing, and comprehension test to standard
• Previous experience in a prep/laboratory role is desirable but not essential
• Ability to work in a team and meet tight deadlines
• A valid driver's license (minimum green provisional license)
