About the role

Are you an experienced Field Technician, Core Yard Technician, or Pit Technician looking for your next challenge? This dynamic role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills across a variety of field-based tasks while supporting both open pit and underground geology teams in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. A typical day involves the below responsibilities.

• Collect and label samples from field and pit locations for lab analysis
• Assist with gridding, clearing, sump digging, and drill pad setup
• Collect, split, and dispatch drilling samples as required
• Mark core, perform geotechnical logging, and conduct basic measurements
• Monitor and arrange servicing of field gear and vehicles
• Carry out or supervise sump filling, area rehab, and collar plugging
• Maintain and securely store all field equipment
• Contribute to safety and continuous improvement initiatives

This position will only be offered to those who reside locally to Kalgoorlie or are willing to permanently relocate. Relocation support can be provided. The roster is a continuous 9:5 (10-hour day) roster.

About you

• 3+ years' experience working in exploration, underground or open pit mining operations is highly desirable but not essential
• Ability to work outside, in all weather conditions, all year round, including the cold of winter to extreme heat in summer is essential
• Current manual drivers' licence is essential
• Forklift licence essential
• Good data entry abilities and general confidence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
• Reading and interpreting maps and photographs
• Previous experience using a GPS and Differential GPS Units is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a desire to work in an assistant oriented capacity
• High level of organisational and time management skills
• Be physically fit, with a positive can-do attitude
• Proven commitment to safe working practices always
