Overview

Court Officer (Queanbeyan) - NSW Sheriff\u2019s Office

Location: Queanbeyan (travel required). Temporary 12-month opportunity (Full-time 35 HPW). Clerk Grade 1/2, Base Salary $75,728 - $82,329 plus Employer\u2019s superannuation and annual leave loading.

This is a targeted recruitment. Preference will be given to candidates who meet established standards of the role and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Lived experience contributes to the success of this role.

Role type: Clerk Grade 1/2 within the NSW Office of the Sheriff, providing day-to-day operational support in a fast-paced courtroom environment.

  • Data entry
  • Courtroom support
  • Jury support
  • Management and facilitation of courtroom operations, including technology

Note: The Court Officer role involves exposure to graphic content, including images, photographs and discussions relating to violence, sexual assault and/or homicide matters.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • High-level data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities and work across various jurisdictions and court locations
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in upholding court and jury process standards
Essential Requirements
  • Successful completion of the Court Officer Induction Program within 12 months of commencement
  • Mandated training requirements for Court Officers as directed by NSW Sheriff\u2019s Office
  • Valid Australian Driver\u2019s Licence; willingness to travel and overnight stays as required
