Base pay range

A$129,464.00/yr - A$142,665.00/yr

Senior Information Manager, Ongoing Role, Sydney

Salary Grade 9/10 Base Salary: $129,464 – $142,665 + Superannuation (commensurate with experience)

About the Role

As the agency's internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) in information and records management, the Senior Information Manager leads INSW's information governance strategy. This role ensures the effective and secure management of both electronic and physical records, aligning systems and practices with best-practice standards and business needs.

You will be responsible for designing and overseeing INSW's information and records management program, ensuring it supports operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain the INSW Information Strategy and Roadmap, enabling efficient storage, access, sharing, and disposal of records in line with State Records NSW.
Manage and maintain robust information management systems, policies, and processes—including the Information Asset Register (IAR)—to assess information value and mitigate risks to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Establish and communicate standards for data classification and taxonomies to ensure consistent and effective information retrieval.
Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead the development of strategies to improve information system performance.
Plan and execute data collection activities across INSW systems, ensuring compliance with business, legal, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with external vendors as needed.

About You

You bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Management, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with records/content management systems and information retrieval.
A strategic mindset and technical expertise to drive improvements in information governance.
Experience in Microsoft SharePoint and Purview would be advantageous.
