Leidos Australia delivers IT and airborne solutions that protect and advance the Australian way of life. Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world's toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role And Responsibilities

As a senior member of a technically mature and inclusive team, the Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, stability, and security of hybrid infrastructure environments that span both on‑premises and cloud platforms. This is a dynamic, hands‑on position where you will solve infrastructure challenges, contribute to service resilience, and enable secure, high‑availability operations, while also mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and driving continuous improvement.

You will work across traditional data centre technologies and modern cloud‑native services, supporting virtualisation, storage, networking, databases, and cloud orchestration layers. You'll also contribute to secure‑by‑design operating models and enterprise tooling, helping to shape how infrastructure is maintained, optimised, and evolved to meet future demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced support across hybrid platforms, including Windows/Linux servers, virtualisation technologies, cloud platforms, enterprise databases, and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Manage and optimise on‑premises infrastructure components such as server compute, storage, and networking services and infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates to support secure, repeatable deployments.
  • Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and conduct root cause analysis to ensure service reliability and operational resilience.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, maintain operational documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with enterprise Windows Server and Linux environments, including patching, system hardening, and configuration management.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (AWS and/or Azure), with practical experience in deploying and managing cloud‑native workloads.
  • Solid understanding of on‑premise infrastructure including compute, storage, and networking fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code and scripting tools (e.g., Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python) to support automation and diagnostics.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to problem‑solving, with strong documentation and communication skills and a passion for mentoring and team development.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold or be able to obtain an NV‑1 level security clearance.

Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter. We're the tech company everyone calls when things get weird. We don't wear capes (they're a safety hazard), but we do solve high‑stakes problems with code, caffeine, and a healthy disregard for "how it's always been done."
