About The Role

Our goal to build 'healthier rural people and thriving communities' is the shared responsibility of all involved in care of our patients and the Hospital Assistant is an integral and valued member of our team. The Hospital Assistant supports the delivery of an efficient and effective catering and cleaning service to the patients and facilities within the Health Service.

You will need to be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Remaining calm in emergencies and the capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment is also valued.

In a small, close knit team you will be well supported and your dedication will be seen and appreciated. You will be an integral member of the community and you'll see not only the results of your care, but the appreciation of the community of the role you play in their health.

This position is managed by Downer on a day-to-day basis. The successful applicant will be physically based at Orange Health Campus – Bloomfield, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District.

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of catering and cleaning services to patients and facilities.
  • Be reliable, punctual, energetic and able to work as part of a team.
  • Follow instructions and maintain calm in emergencies.
  • Handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment safely.
Qualifications and Skills
