Overview

Apprenticeship Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal)

Based in Kirribilli and overlooking the water every day, we are seeking a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentice to complete their Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication trade (Sheetmetal). The position would entail TIG welding and fabricating custom-made marine parts in this small but busy workshop. The majority of work is marine stainless steel fabrication most of which is working on pleasure craft and super yachts. This is a full-time (38 hour week) 4 year apprenticeship, with an immediate start and you will be paid to attend TAFE which will commence 2026.

Experience And Attributes

  • No experience required but some previous work with metal would be an advantage (including metal work at school)
  • Willingness to learn with a positive attitude
  • Reliable and hard working
  • Fine eye with attention to detail

Experience with TIG welding and stainless fabrication is a bonus but not a requirement as on-the-job training will be provided. We are seeking someone who has a fine eye for detail as neat TIG welding of thin walled stainless tubes is a required skill from which to learn.
